• The purpose of such retreats is to give
participants a first hand experience of this approach to therapy, from
the benefits of the nurturing surroundings, to the therapeutic
properties of the various expressive therapies ( art therapy, sand play
therapy,
doll house play, story writing, sewing, the use of family photographs,
visualization, etc…
• It will also be an opportunity to
explore and find new helpful ways of dealing with the issues that affect
the effectiveness and best use of self as a therapist (i.e.: family of
origin issues, dealing with life transitions and challenges, self-care,
balance between personal and professional life, vicarious traumatization,
maintaining the integrity of one's work in the days of managed care
etc….) |
