| Hornby Island is located off the East Coast of Vancouver Island, approximately one-hour drive North of Nanaimo and 20 minutes South of Courtenay. There is no taxi or Public Transit on Hornby Island. You can rent bicycles and kayaks for affordable personal transport if you chose not to use a car. Walking is also encouraged. | ||

Directions to Hornby Island from the Lower
Mainland:
If you are driving from the City of Vancouver to Vancouver Island you will take either the Horseshoe Bay ferry or the Tsawwassen ferry. When you arrive on Vancouver Island drive North on Highway 19 to Buckley Bay, take the ferry to Denman Island, drive across Denman Island to the Hornby Island Ferry. Take the Hornby Island ferry across • Ferries leave from Buckley Bay every hour. The last ferry connecting to Hornby leaves Buckley Bay at 6 p.m. every day except Friday when it leaves at 10 p.m. I recommend that you call BC Ferries before your departure to confirm sailing times. • Leave yourself approximately 2 hours to travel from Hornby Island to Comox Airport. Directions to Hornby Island from Comox Airport: • Rent a car and drive south to Buckley Bay take the ferry to Denman Island, drive across Denman Island to the Hornby Island Ferry. Take the Hornby Island ferry across • If you would like to fly to Comox and not rent a car, call me to discuss the possibility of being picked up at the airport and driven to Hornby Island ($100CAN; $80US return fare.
